Here is our shopping posse after our dinner in town. We were all up and shopping by 6 am and we easily managed to fill our rental truck with lots of beautiful treasures.

Tongeren is the oldest town in Belgium. It used to have six medieval gates, but now only one the "Moerenpoort" (Marsh Gate) from 1379 remains. There are plenty of medieval remains to admire in the town - including parts of the old town wall.

Eight of the ladies from our neighborhood took an overnight trip to Tongeren, Belgium to visit their famous antique/flea market. The ride to Belgium is a beautiful drive through the Mosel Valley of Germany and only takes about 3-4 hours.

Although this picture doesn't really do it justice - here is our new chandelier in all it's glory! You have to see it in person to appreciate the sparkle factor!

We made a short stop on our drive home today. We popped into the city of Plzen. This is where Pilsner beers were first brewed! We found the town square and sat down for an ice cream and of course - a pils!
After a great Italian dinner we strolled along the river for a last look at Prague. Another fabulous trip!
After a long, hot day of sightseeing in Prague, it was nice to relax back at the hotel in their garden and sip a cold beer.
Here is one the statues. This one is from the 17th century. For 200 years the wooden crucifix stood alone on the bridge. The gilding was added in 1629 and were paid for as punishment for blasphemy by a Jew. They read "Holy, Holy, Holy Lord".
Her we are the the very crowded St. Charles Bridge. The bridge ia perhaps Pragues most familiar monument. At one tme it was the only bridge connecting both sides of the city. At one time, it could take 4 carriages abreast. The bridge is lined with statues of various saints on both sides.
After the trip to the castle and a delicious lunch in the Little Quarter(the part of Prague least affected by recent history), we headed towards the famous St. Charles bridge. This is the Little Quarter Bridge Tower and is the entrance to the bridge.
This is the view from atop the Renaissance bell tower. We paid the man at the bottom of the tower a small "fee"(which he quickly put into his pocket) for the four of us to climb to the top. The view was beautiful as you can see!
